April 2013 Glossybox Work that Beauty

April 29, 2013
Here are the contents of my April 2013 "Work that Beauty" themed box.

The contents card:

Alterna Haircare Bamboo Style Boho Waves Tousled Texture Mist- I was so excited about getting this product!!  I have naturally wavy hair, and at the beginning of the day the waves look nice, but by the end of the day my hair either looks frizzy or like I forgot to brush my hair--I assure you that I DO brush it!  I tried some of this out today and my wavy hair stayed wavier longer!  I loved the effect, and I'm not really a believer in most hair products.  I don't know how it would work for those with straight or curly hair, though.

Bvlgari Eau Parfumée au thé blanc- This Bvlgari product is actually a tea bag that can be used in the bath tub to scent the water.  Although I am more of a shower girl, this product interests me because I haven't ever seen anything like it before...at least not in the form of a tea bag!

The Honest Company Honest Organic Lip Balm- The scent I received was Orange Vanilla which seems to be the scent that most Glossybox subscribers are receiving.  Before using it, the product was completely unscented, but once I applied it, I could smell it on my lips.  As someone on the Make Up Talk Forums described it, it smells like a creamsicle!  I did not think I would be excited about a lip gloss that has no color, but the scent was so good that it won me over on the product.

Tigi Cosmetics Glow Blush- This item came as no surprise since Glossybox promoted their box by showing spoilers for this.  It is a full size and valued at $22, which is more than the cost of a one month subscription to Glossybox.  I love it when one item retails for more than what the box sells for.  It makes me feel like I am getting a good deal.  I'm very satisfied with the color and overall look of the blush.  The shade that I got is called Brilliance.

Wash With Joe Coffeemint Invigorating Body Wash- I never knew that they made coffee scented body wash!  I like the smell of coffee especially in the morning because drinking a cup is a part of my daily routine.  While drinking a real cup of coffee will help wake me up, this body wash will also do the same thing because it is very strongly scented of coffee and mint.  I wish the sample was larger than the 1 oz. we received, but don't I always want more?

Le Métier de Beauté Replenishing Daily Solution- This small, foil sample was already given out in January's Man Repeller Box, but since Glossybox decided to make this a member's exclusive, I see it as an extra bonus.  The card that the foil is attached to also has the promo code: Glossybox on it so that Glossybox subscribers can save $75 on the product.   Even with the $75 off, it still costs $150 which is way out of my price range.  I will still enjoy using the sample, though.

In my opinion this was another great month for Glossybox!  As a side note, the Glossy mag was missing from the box in order to save paper in honor of Earth Day.  The web version of the magazine can be accessed from their site.  I'm not a huge fan, but may take a look if I have some extra time.

What product appeals to you the most from this month's box?

  1. Nice box! The US Version of 'work that beauty' is somehow really different from the German one. You got very nice products. Especially the Tigi blush looks great. The bulgari product seems to be interesting, too!

    1. I know, we didn't get any of the same things! I wonder if all Glossyboxes in other countries had the same theme.

    1. Generally I'm really happy with them! Once in awhile, there are some off months, but overall I love the anticipation and experimenting with new products. Hopefully you can find the one that's right for you.
