Ipsy Glambag June 2013

June 17, 2013
I received my Ipsy Glambag in the mail on Saturday, so I thought I'd go ahead and get my review done in a timely manner, especially because I was so delayed last month due to my trip.  Speaking of a timely manner, Ipsy seems to be pretty reliable so far with coming in the middle of the month, unlike Glossybox with all of their issues!

I got 4 full sized products and some fake eyelashes!  I really think 4 full sized products for $10/month is so worth it, even if the brands aren't as high end.  At the drug store, $10 sure doesn't go very far, so I'm just as happy with my Ipsy as I was last month.

Cailyn Gel Eyeliner- The bottle actually comes apart, and it contains a brush to use for application of the eyeliner.  I love that this bottle comes with its own brush, so already that is a major plus.  I hate having to hunt for brushes when I'm in a hurry, but I won't have to with this since it is attached.  I know that I said I was sick of getting black eyeliner, but since this is in gel form and not just a pencil, I guess I'm okay with it. :)  With that being said, I don't necessarily want any more.

NYX Mosaic Powder- There are some dark colors in this powder, so I was scared it was going to look horrendous on my pale skin.  I never want to look orange or completely unnatural.  When I applied the powder today, it didn't look as dark as it did in the container as it did on my face, which was a relief!  Also, I didn't blend it enough, so I did get a pink spot on my nose which I had to correct, but that was my fault.  I only really have one other powder that I'm using right now, so it will be nice to switch it up with this one sometimes.

J.cat Eyelashes and Eyelash Glue- On the package it says these are made out of "100% human hair."  I have a confession to make and that is that I've never worn false eyelashes except for one time for a Halloween costume.  I have been interested in trying some out, but I just never got around to it, so I'm glad that these puppies got sent to me!  The ones that I used for my Halloween costume were NOT reuseable, but these are which is even more exciting to me.  I can't wait to try them out, but I'm just scared of one falling off and me not noticing it right away.  It would totally be just like me to have one pair on and the other one like dangling off the side of my face or something.  I think I might give these a test run around the house before I wear them out, especially since I'm not an expert at applying these!

J.cat Sparkling Cream Palette- Initially this product was one of the ones I was the most happy about receiving, but after trying out these creams on my eyelids, I was slightly disappointed.  By looking at the creams in the palette, they look pretty opaque, but that is not the case.  I thought I was going to be okay to use just the sparkily cream as an eyeshadow, but I had to go ahead and apply some eyeshadow first and put the sparkling cream over top of that for it to look decent.  It doesn't say anywhere on here that this is actually an eyeshadow palette, so I think these can be used on your face/body, too.

Starlooks Lip Pencil- I got the shade called Tickle Me Pink.  I never use lip liner as just a liner--instead I fill in my lips with the color and use it as a liner + lipstick.  I prefer lipsticks to liners, but do love that in general my color tends to last longer using liners as opposed to most lipsticks.  Here is a swatch of it:

I used all of the products in my Ipsy today when doing my makeup with the exception of the false eyelashes. My boyfriend wasn't home to take a picture of me, so please excuse the selfie shot.

The only product I used that was NOT in the Ipsy Glambag was some L'Oreal BB Cream, so it's pretty nice that they gave me a wide range of makeup products.  I hope in next month's Ipsy that I get some sort of body product, just to change things up a bit.

Do any of these products appeal to you?
