My first Ipsy Glambag (May 2013)

June 13, 2013
I had been hearing so many great things about Ipsy Glambag from my friend and had also been reading many positive reviews on this subscription service, so I decided to give it a shot since the price is right at only $10/month.

When I arrived home from my trip, here is what I had waiting for me:

Pacifica Tahitian Gardenia Roll-On Perfume-  I was so impressed that I got a full sized roll-on perfume to try especially because they sell for about $12 each, and that is already more than what I paid for the box.  Honestly, the scent of gardenia wouldn't be my first choice because super flowery perfumes are not my favorite, but I gave this kind a shot since that is what I received.  There are some scents that I just love right away from the bottle, but this was not one of them.  I feel like this perfume smells better on after it has had a chance to soak into my skin.  The application of the product is great with the roller ball because it gave me just the amount that I needed and didn't waste any perfume.  The scent is pretty strong, so with just a tiny swipe, I feel like I'm covered and smelling great.

Anastasia Clear Brow Gel- This item is one that I have never owned or been interested in trying previously.  When I was born, my grandmother told my mom, "Your daughter has perfect eyebrows!"  I think the word perfect may be stretching it, and I think that my body could improve in many ways, but I'm actually happy with my eyebrows!  I don't really pluck that much or need to shape them, and I never use a brow pencil let alone brow gel.  I tried this product out, and it did help a couple of eyebrow hairs stay in place, but I can't really see myself spending money on this product in the future.  Still, it was nice to experiment and try something new.

Yaby Concealer Refill- Thankfully I got this in the correct shade for my skin tone, vanilla.  I was lucky in that respect because I know that many others did not get the shade most appropriate for them.  I tried this product out this morning and used it under my eyes to cover up dark circles.  I like this product, but it would have been nicer to get a larger sample, but I can't really complain since Ispy is pretty generous with the size of the products they include in their monthly bags!  Since I don't have too much of this product, I think I will continue to use it just under my eyes and maybe to cover up where I've broken out, but I won't be using it all over my face.

Zoya Polish in Gie Gie- Again, I was stoked to receive another full sized product!  I love Zoya polishes and am happy with the color I received, though I think I would have been happy with any of the colors available.  I just bought a shirt in this color, though, so it's nice that this polish will match it perfectly.

Mirabella Colour Sheer Lipstick in Pixie- I wore this lipstick to work today and liked the color, consistency, and feel of the product.  I feel super spoiled considering this is a full sized product that retails for $22.00!

All in all, I am 100% satisfied with Ipsy this month.  They made a great first impression with me, especially because I am used to getting Birchboxes which tend to have 1 or NO full sized products.  I hope that I will continue my love affair with Ipsy in the coming months!  My only regret is that I did not sign up for this service sooner.

  4. Whoa you got such different stuff than I did! The only repeat products are the nail polish and the concealer. I didn't realize Ipsy had such a wide variety of things because my sister and I always get pretty similar bags. Sooo want that lipstick though, I'm obsessed with lip products!

    1. Yeah, I'm so happy with the lipstick! I'll have to check out what you got this month and see how our bags compare. :) I wonder if we just filled out our profiles differently or if there is pretty much no rhyme or reason to it all!
