Estee Lauder Free Gift: Lilly Pulitzer Bag

July 5, 2013
I recently used up all of my DayWear Advanced Multi-Protection Anti-Oxidant Creme from Estee Lauder, but luckily I had picked up another container full of this amazing product of it in the spring.  I love this cream so much that I know I will keep repurchasing it again and again.  I haven't come close to finding anything that works so well on my skin.  After using the product, my skin feels moisturized and the formula is light and non-greasy.  Using this product is supposed to help one "resist the first signs of aging."  My philosophy is that it's never too early to start.  I love that it has an SPF of 15, too because the BB Cream that I like to use doesn't have any SPF, so at least I'm getting it from somewhere.  The reason why I decided to get the cream when I did is because Estee Lauder was having their free gift with a $35 skin care or foundation purchase.  Since I knew that I was running low on my moisturizer, I decided to go ahead and buy it so that I could snag the free gift, too.  I actually have never bought the cream on its own, because I think spending $48 on just one cream is too pricey, even though the 1.7 oz container usually lasts me a full year.  The free gifts with purchase always help me justify spending the $48 on the DayWear Creme because I am getting so much more for my $48 than just one thing!

For buying the DayWear Advanced Multi-Protection Anti-Oxidant Creme, I got all of this as my free gift:

I received:

Lilly Pulitzer Makeup bag- This floral bag is outrageously cute and was designed by the late Lilly Pulitzer.  I have already used it several times.  It came in handy on a recent trip, and I know that I will get a lot of use out of it in the future.  I mean, how could you not want to tote this around?

Two plastic floral containers- These would be great to fill with shampoo and conditioner when only taking a carry-on.  I am always buying travel sized shampoos and conditioners and have some bottles saved that I've refilled, but these are much more stylish.  Plus, they match the bag.  :)

Exotic Orchid Shimmer Lipstick- There was actually another lipstick I could have gotten, but the lady working the makeup counter and I both agreed that this shade was more flattering for my skin tone.  I own a few Estee Lauder lipsticks, but they were all given to me as gifts.  I like the formula and the colors, but I guess I usually opt for cheaper lipsticks or else like to be adventurous and spend the money on trying out different brand instead, so I was glad that a lipstick was included as a part of the free gift.  The Exotic Orchid shade is a nice, go-to shade that I can wear in a professional setting, too.

Sumptuous Bold Volume Lifting Mascara- Estee Lauder's mascara does work well, but I'm not a huge mascara fan.  Honestly, my eyes aren't very big and sometimes when I wear mascara the top of my eyelashes stick to the bottom of my eyelashes and it bothers me.  It seems like a free mascara is always included as a part of the free gift, but I wish I could have something else instead.  It did make a nice surprise for my younger sister who was complaining about her clumpy Cover Girl mascara.

Also included was some Advanced Time Zone Age Reversing Line/Wrinkle Cream, an Advanced Time Zone Age Reversing Line/Wrinkle Cream for Eyes, and some Advanced Night Repair.  I would never buy these products for myself, but since they were included I'll put them to good use!

I know that other brands like Clinque and Lancome also give away gifts with a certain minimum purchase. What is your take on the free gift incentive?  Do you have a favorite brand that gives away free gifts with minimum purchases?

    1. Yeah, I used to be a big fan of them. Actually when I was in middle school, I remember my mom taking me to the Clinique counter so that I could get make overs. :)

  5. Oh, so many goodies! Looks really great. I often bought Clinique products in the past before my addiction for asian cosmetic started..and I've always loved those kind of travel sized extra samples.
