Ipsy Glambag July 2013 First Impressions

July 21, 2013
I got my Ipsy Glambag in the mail last week, and oh-so happy with it.  First of all, can we just stop and take a moment to admire the actual bag itself?  Is it not the cutest?  I love that it is see-though and I'm a girly-girl, so the color is to my liking for sure.  I wouldn't carry it around with me on a day-to-day basis, but feel like it would be appropriate to use to tote along a few things when I go swimming.  It really feels "beach-y" to me, too which aligns with this month's theme of "Beach Beauty."

 What I got:

Coola Mineral Sunscreen SPF 20- I received some Coola sunscreen in a Birchbox a few months back, and I haven't actually tried it yet.  I just am too pale to be wearing only SPF 20 in the summer because I need something with a higher SPF.  I will use this product, but I'm probably going to wait until the fall because I don't want to get burnt.  I might also use it only as a moisturizer on summer days when I know I'll be inside for most of the day (i.e. every day I work.)

Derma e Microdermabrasion Scrub- YAY!  I was hoping I would get this!  The formula is 100% vegan and exfoliates skin so that it's nice and soft.  It also is supposed to help reduce the appearance of fine lines.  I think I'll be trying this out tonight...can't wait!  The lemony-lime smell alone is divine if you like citrus-y scents, which I definitely do.  I hope this product is a win for me!

Sexy Hair Weather Proof Humidity Resistant Spray- I don't typically wear a lot of hair spray because I work 5 out of 7 days, and for work my hair must be up, and therefore, I do not style my hair on these days.  I am going to use this the next time I straighten my hair because it is supposed to combat frizz, which I have plenty of despite a keratin treatment!

Pop Beauty Pouty Pop Crayon- I got the color in coral crush, which looks great from the swatch.  I'm so excited to see that I don't have to sharpen this baby and can just easily twist down more product when I need to.  I'm sure that I will be wearing this a lot seeing as how coral is very in right now.

BH Cosmetics Eyeshadow Sample:  It's nice that we get three eye shadows to try!  I like all three colors, but just wish that they were a bit more pigmented.  Don't worry, I'm still going to wear them...I'll just put on more so that it looks darker.

Once again, I'm loving what I received from Ipsy this month, even though I was really hoping for some Benetint.  Although it probably was not my favorite month, I still think it was worth the $10 I paid for it.

Is there anything you would like to try from this month's Ipsy Glambag?

  6. Love that lipstick pencil, but then again I love anything coral. I just got a coral lipstick pencil by CoverGirl and love it! The dark blue or navy eye shadow is pretty! I also checked out the link you sent on that nail polish organizer, it looks so cute! I would go for it :)

    1. I just went on Etsy again to look at it! Haha... I think I'll put it on my wishlist, but I don't know how long I can hold out. Especially when my polishes are making my room look cluttered. I can't be having that, now can I?

  7. Instead of the scrub and the hairspray, I got the nail polish (I haven't tried it yet, but I love the color) and the Soy Renewal Beach Spray, which I used yesterday and I think I like it (though I already have curly hair so it might not do much for me?).

    1. I would have loved the Soy Renewal Beach Spray instead of the hair product I received. Oh well, I'm happy that I at least got the scrub I wanted. The nail polish also looks very nice! Are you happy with your bag?
