Mini Pacifica Haul

September 4, 2013
I first became aware of the brand Pacifica when I was looking at reviews for Ipsy Glam Bag from the month of January.  In some bags, there was a tube of Pacifica Blood Orange Body Butter, and every review that I read was full of only positive feedback about this product.  I love citrus scents and mentioned this brand to my friend, who went ahead and bought me a whole set from Pacifica as a gift.

The set includes:

* Tuscan Blood Orange Body Wash 17 fl oz/500 mL
* Tuscan Blood Orange Body Butter  8 fl oz/236 mL
* Tuscan Blood Orange Roll on Perfume .33 fl oz/10 mL

The Tuscan blood orange scent is described on Pacifica's body wash and lotion:  "Sparkling, juicy blood orange with notes of red raspberry and spicy sweet Italian mandarins.  The scent of the Mediterranean beach."

Pacifica Tuscan Blood Orange Body Butter- This moisturizing body butter truly does smell divine!  I really could smell the red raspberries mixed in with the orange scent.  I use this as an all over body butter in the morning and as a hand cream throughout the day.  When I first apply the body butter there is no need for me to wear any perfume to accompany this lotion because it smells so great on its own.  The body butter absorbed right into my skin and didn't stay greasy.  My skin, which tends to be on the drier side, felt smooth all day long.

Pacifica Tuscan Blood Orange Roll on Perfume- I like roll on perfumes for the convenience factor.  I currently carry this perfume around in my purse with me and apply it throughout the day when I need a pick me up.  Sometimes I have to run around all day at work and start to sweat.  I'd like to think that I don't smell, but ya never can be too sure.  I always have this with me because I'd much rather smell like oranges than sweat!

Pacifica Tuscan Blood Orange Body Wash- I haven't actually used this product yet, but my first impressions are all positive because it is made with a lot of natural ingredients and does not contain any artificial coloring.  It has antioxidants like pomegranate which is intended to promote more youthful looking skin.  I can't wait to give it a test run!

Both the lotion and the body wash are 100% vegan products and have no "parabens, phthalates, mineral oil, peanut oil, and artificial color" and are made in the USA.  For more information about Pacifica, check out their website.

I also decided to pick up Pacifica's Natural Minerals Enlighten Eye Brightening Shadow Palette because it was on sale at Target and I found the colors to be beautiful individually and think they will look great when blended together as well.  The colors are ones that are appropriate for summer, but I could easily see them being worn in autumn, too.

As you can see, the palette contains four shades, from left to right they are: Skinnydip, Coral Sand, Golden, and Urchin.

Here is how the colors are described on the back of the box:

"Urchin- Iridescent jeweled purple with gold tones.  Perfect for lining and crease.
Golden- Perfect gold with just the right amount of shimmer.  Use on lids/and or for highlighting.
Coral Sand- Satin coral for lid base or highlighter.
Skinnydip- Matte nude base cover or lash liner.  A universal highlighter."

The swatches, starting with Skinnydip, then Coral Sand, the Golden, and finally Urchin.

I thought the colors were going to be darker than they were.  I actually swatched the shadows once and then went over them again before I photographed them, so twice total.  I might apply the shadow dry during the day, but for a nighttime look I'd prefer them darker, so I'll be wetting the brush before the application.  I will also have to try them out with a primer.  All of the colors still look lovely, but urchin doesn't appear to be as purple as I thought it was going to be--it almost looks brown!  It's not that I don't like the color; it's just that I was expecting purple.

Do you own any Pacifica products?  What are your thoughts on the brand?

    1. I know, my friend is the greatest for getting me that gift set. I hadn't heard of the brand until the January Ipsy Glam Bag came out. It's not that famous yet.
