Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer in Merlot- My boyfriend bought me a big stash of Burt's Bees stuff and this was probably my favorite thing out of about 20 other products.  It kept my lips hydrated, but what I liked the best was the flattering color.  It doesn't happen very often, but once in awhile I use a lip color and am surprised at how good it looks!  The color is my style and complemented my fair skin tone.  In case you haven't guessed, yes, I would repurchase it mainly because I just love the color.

MAC Barbie Lip Gloss- This was probably the first piece of makeup I ever got from MAC.  I got it awhile back as a gift.  Due to the fact that I hear everyone raving about MAC, I think I had some high expectations for the lip gloss, but it's just your typical lip gloss and didn't really stand out to me.  I probably wouldn't repurchase this because I'd want to save my $$ for something else from MAC and would just go with a drugstore brand of lip gloss.

Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion- This worked well and I like the fact that it's actually unscented since I almost always go for scented lotion.  I like to wear this lotion when I know I'll be wearing some perfume.  I don't like to put on perfume that clashes with the scent of my lotion!  I will be buying this again for the winter and keeping it in my purse for when my dry hands need some relief.

Love My Body All Over Body Lotion- I got this lotion as a part of a Black Friday deal last year and just got around to using it up.  It was just okay...it was fine for the summer, but I don't think it would have been effective enough in the winter when my skin gets really dry.  I also am not a big fan of the Jasmine & Water Lily scent.  I liked that I got this lotion for free, but not enough to repurchase in this scent...it's just not the type of scent I prefer to wear!

Burt's Bees Peppermint and Rosemary Body Wash- This left my skin feeling clean and fresh and I found the peppermint and rosemary scent to be very invigorating.  It gave me a boost on mornings when I was feeling a little sluggish (which is EVERY early morning, haha).  It lathered up nicely and I would suggest trying it out if you like peppermint!  I would re-buy this again, only in a larger bottle!

Dream Angels Heavenly Perfume- This is probably my favorite perfume tied with Incanto by Salvatore Ferragamo, even though the two don't smell very similar!  This is the third bottle I used up, and I've been buying this perfume since 2004.  I think I'm just going to go for the largest bottle the next time because I know I'll use it and I miss not having this combination of sandalwood, vanilla, white musk and peony in my collection anymore!

Smoothing Keratin Complex Shampoo and Conditioner- Oh my...so I got a keratin treatment for my thick, wavy hair because I wanted to get rid of the frizz.  The hairdresser recommended that I buy this shampoo and conditioner to extend the effects of the keratin treatment.  I don't think the keratin treatment did a THING for my hair.  It looked just as frizzy as it did before, even right after I got it done.  I followed all the directions and didn't wash my hair for three days and when I did I used this shampoo and conditioner.  Unfortunately my hair really did look exactly the same as before.  I would not buy this shampoo and conditioner again because I would never spend all that money on a keratin treatment again since it didn't work for me at all.

Have you ever gotten a keratin treatment or any other type hair straightening treatment?  Was it effective for you?

  1. I never tried a burt's bees product, but I'd love to. The body wash sounds great!

    1. The first time I ever tried something from Burt's Bees was from a Canadian friend in 2003! I had never even heard of Burt's Bees even though it is an American brand, but it is big here now and also easy to find.

  2. I prefer unscented lotions too, because I don't want it to mess with my cloud of perfume. I have fine, frizzy hair and I have had the keratin treatment done 3 times in the last 4 years. It works great for me - my hairstylist used the Copolla brand. I got the shampoo and conditioner too, and while I don't know how much of a differnce it made, I would say after a keratin you would want to use something sulfate free. I need to do it again soon, my hair us a NIGHTMARE naturally :)

    1. I love scented lotion, but sometimes I just need a break. :) I'm glad you had good luck with your keratin treatments. I don't know why it didn't work on my hair, but it didn't. I don't think it had anything to do with the hair dresser because she was extremely professional and knowledgeable about the treatment. I swear it's my hair! When I got a perm (that was in my middle school days) it didn't set right the first time and she had to do it over. Maybe it is the same with the keratin treatment? The best treatment I ever had was L'Oreal Xtenso, but it was done overseas, so nothing was regulated. My hair was seriously a dream for a whole year and I've never had that nice since!

    2. So of course I had to look Xtenso up! You can buy it on Amazon and they claim you can do it yourself - but I think I would end up with a hot mess! I need to find a cosmetology student....

    3. Yes, I saw that you can do it yourself, but I don't know how!! I was in the salon for over four hours and it was a two step process, as in they straightened my hair twice. (I got it done in Indonesia, so don't know if they do things a little differently or if that is actually how Xtenso is supposed to be done.) They had multiple people working on my hair at once, too! I am definitely NOT that talented, but sure wish I was because I want that hair back. It was so glossy and easy to manage, not to mention that it was perfectly straight, even without me styling it!

  3. I love those Burt's Bees lip shimmers! They're great for when you're too lazy to apply lipstick (which I am most of the time, haha).

    1. Yeah, the MAC gloss is just run of the mill lip gloss to me! As for the lotion and perfume, I am hooked on Victoria's Secrets deals and $10 gift cards that they randomly mail out. Their incentives always get me to try stuff I otherwise wouldn't.
