Target Haul

November 25, 2013
I recently went on mini shopping spree at Target and wanted to share what I picked up with you.

My first purchase was this set of gorgeous floral notebooks.  I am a huge stationery/notebook/paper fan, and these notebooks were way too pretty to pass up buying.  I always have a notebook with me to jot down my thoughts, blogging ideas, to-do and grocery lists, quotes I like, etc.  I have a terrible short term memory and am one of those people who is always thinking of stuff, so I've learned to just write an idea down as it comes to me so I don't forget later on.  Now I just have to decide which one I would like to write in first.  :)

When splurging, it is pretty much a given that I'm going to hit the beauty aisles.  I decided to finally go ahead and try Baby Lips since I've heard a million good things about them and they are only $2.99 each.  The main reason why I finally picked up a couple of them is because my lips get so dry in the winter, so I thought it would be nice to have a few of these handy.  The colors I chose were Cherry Me and Grape Vine, which I have swatched below.  I decided to go with the classics instead of trying out the new fluorescent colors.  I did get a chance to try out both of them and love that they are scented, lightly stain your lips, and provide moisture.  On the packaging it says that an application is supposed to last 8 hours, but I don't find that to be true...I guess maybe if you didn't eat or drink anything, but I'm always (trying to) drink tons of water, so I found that I had to re-apply more frequently than once every 8 hours.  It's not a big deal to me, and that is my only qualm with these lip balms.  I can see why they are such a hit!

I also picked up two new lipsticks...I've found that I have been just using lipsticks that I've received in monthly subscription boxes like Glossybox and Ipsy Glam Bag, so I wanted to pick out my own colors for a change.  I chose a Revlon Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie and Maybelline's Color Whisper lipstick in Faint for Fuchsia.

I also bought some Almay Eye Makeup Remover.  I have been buying this for years, although this time I opted for the oil-free version because lately have been using Almay's Eye Makeup Remover pads which work wonders for removing stubborn and waterproof eye makeup, but I'm over the greasiness! They've also changed the packaging and I'm liking the new look.

The last two things I picked up were two Organix products.  Since I liked Organix's Coconut Milk Shampoo and Conditoner, I figured I would try out their Brazilian Keratin Therapy Shampoo and the Repairing Awapuhi Ginger Conditioner.  What sold me on selecting these products was that the bottles were double the size that they usually are, but the price remained the same!  I would have bought the Awapuhi Ginger Shampoo, too, but they were sold out!

Have you gone into Target lately?  If so, what did you pick up?

  1. Those notebooks are really cute, nice find! I sort of avoid Target these days because our local one is unusually understocked and overcrowded with crazy people, but when I do go I always scour the endcaps for beauty and personal care clearance, haha. I recommend doing that after major holidays (like Halloween, Christmas etc.) because all the stuff in special seasonal packaging is usually marked down, which makes for some great deals (unless you don't want Christmas-themed soap in your bathroom all winter long)

    1. Oh gosh, your Target sounds like a nightmare. No wonder why you don't go in there too often. Luckily, our local Target is pretty nice and actually peaceful compared to our Wal-Mart, which is the place I try to avoid.
