Essie Polish: Cool Colors

January 22, 2014
I'm positive that I've already written on here about my love of Essie polishes.  I think they're great because I find the polishes to be long lasting with a top coat, and Essie always seems to come out with the cutest and trendiest colors.  Upon examining my growing collection of Essie polishes, I realized that  almost every Essie polish I own is in a cool color like blue or turquoise as opposed to warmer colors like red or pink.

When I saw the winter collection, I decided that there wasn't a polish in it I wouldn't like to own.  Of course I had to limit myself and bought just three of my favorite colors:

Mind Your Mittens: "A deep, double diamond black teal."
Warm and Toasty Turtleneck: "Wisteria pink angora."
Parka Perfect: "Serenely shimmering alpine gray."

These cool colors capture the essence of winter!

Onto other cool colored Essie polishes that are more appropriate for Spring and Summer...

Turquoise and Caicos: "A flirty and pretty tropical aqua."
Where's My Chauffeur: "An opulent turquoise."
Naughty Nautical: "Marine blue green shimmer."

I know that several of these colors have a very similar look to them, which is why I wanted to post pictures of the polishes side-by-side so you are able to see the differences.  FYI, Turquoise and Caicos seemed way runnier than Where's My Chauffeur, and I did have to add extra coats of that one, but both colors are still gorgeous!

Do you prefer cooler colors or warmer ones?  Which shade is your favorite?

Ooo I need to get some! I usually stick to covergirl polish but if you say this is a good lasting polish then I will definitely try it :) I usually prefer light or pastel pinks :)

Those are pretty, I can see you like green based polish :) I have been trying to find this blue polish by essie for some time, I have it written down and I haven't had any luck :( You reminded me that I need to do a manicure tomorrow for a post I am working on :)

It has worked well for me, though I don't get why the Turquoise and Caicos polish seems to have a different formula than my other polishes. It just seems very thin! Where's My Chauffeur lasted me for a full week without chipping!

All of these shades are so gorgeous... you really can't go wrong with Essie. I'm totally picking up Naughy Nautical, though. I'm obsessed!

It's funny because I like all sorts of colors, so I don't know why I have so many similar shades of Essie, lol. Glad I could be of help & look forward to seeing your manicure.

I still want Sable Collar really badly, but I'm happy with these colors, too.

I love Essie...the shades are grade, I get a kick out of some of the names of the polish, and I like the design of the bottle. Now I need to build up my collection of warmer colors, right? ;)

essie is one of my favorite brands!! i have a ton of their polishes and my favorites are the bright ones. i have one similar to the turks but in a different brand; i find essie doesn't chip as often.

Good to hear that your Turquoise and Caicos doesn't chip as often!! That is the one I was worried about because I just got that bottle as a Christmas gift and haven't worn it (besides on the swatch) yet!

I really love this essie collection too - I think my favorite is shearling daring (I know, such a winter color). I was really happy to find that I like Warm and Toasty Turtleneck: It's the only Radiant Orchid thing I seem to like this season!

Shearling Darling is pretty awesome. The only reason why it didn't make it on my list is because I already own a color very similar to that one!
