A Little Overworked: Weekly Wrap Up

March 24, 2014
This past week, I was on the go and worked 70 hours between my two jobs.  I am SO looking forward to tomorrow so that I can finally have a day off.  I don't mind working hard, but I do have to admit that I get a bit cranky when I'm overworked, so I'm counting on some R&R time.

Subbing this week went well, except for the fact that there was a fire drill and there was no information on the lesson plan about what to do in case that happened.  I just got the class in order and followed everyone else out the door, which apparently was exactly what I was supposed to do. I'm really glad that I was subbing 1st grade and not kindergarten on the day of the drill.  I feel like some of the kindergartners would have freaked while the alarm was going off, especially with a sub in the room.  In other news, I also got a note from a student and in the note she called me her "Baby Girl."  Ummm, okay?  She wrote, "Baby Girl" all over the note and drew little hearts around the word.  I've never gotten a note like that before from a student, ha!

On Friday before I headed into work, I did get some spring cleaning done.  I ended up giving away over 15 pairs of jeans to Goodwill along with some other items.  There was no way I was ever going to wear those jeans again, so hopefully someone will get use out of them.  My next mission is to go through my beauty products to get rid of expired items along stuff I'll never use.

On Saturday after work, I got to meet up with Rachael!  We headed to a wine bar where we were the youngest ones, which is not an everyday occurrence for me so I enjoyed the moment. I had a flight of sweet wine from Italy along with some delicious flatbread with brie, pears, and caramelized onions. It sounds weird, but it was so tasty.  I had a really good time chatting with Rachael and talking about blogging--she really cracks me up!  We talked about our favorite bloggers, Blogcation, and of course about our Weekly Wrap Up link up. Then we headed back to her place and hung out for a bit.

I hope you're able to link up with us this week!

    1. I agree, but what I thought was weird was throwing onions into the mix. It also is made with a garlic cream sauce which I did not mention. I probably wouldn't have ordered this on my own because the combo sounded strange to me, but my friend let me try some of his on a previous visit to that wine bar and it was scrumptious!

  7. Sounds like a nice week, Baby Girl! :) Kids can be weird, haha. I really need to clean out my closet too... I'm sure there are tons of ill-fitting clothes in there that could be donated.

    1. I have so many cute items that I got too fat for...but I can't part with them. Giving them away would be like saying there's no hope to ever fit into them again!

  12. One time, back when I subbed, I once got the class locked out of the school following a fire drill. As embarassing as it was at the time, at least I got the kids outside and accounted for.

    1. Yeah, at least you got the kids out there and in the right spot. I, or rather the door helper, got the kids locked out of the classroom before. The doors automatically lock and we couldn't get back in after special until the secretary found the key, but she had to try several before she got it.
